I am Sir Alex of Forsyth and yes, I have definitely been knighted (but like, don't look into it).

I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons for over a decade, starting all the way back in high school when I taught myself and my friends how to play. Since then, I've helped many groups get their start in D&D and love to help beginners find their footing.

I've also run numerous long form campaigns for a few different groups, and have the experience to not only DM for more experienced players, but adapt and customize the game to your preferences.

By day, I am a professional actor with a background in performance for camera and voice, so you better be ready for weird NPCs with funny voices and crazy over-the-top evil villain monologues.

If all that sounds like your cup of tea, then I'd love to create a story just for you! Thanks for reading about me, and I hope we can have a great adventure together!

How I run games

My favorite kinds of games are Theater of the Mind with the occasional battle map for visual aid, but I've run all kinds of sessions from combat light and roleplay heavy campaigns to high lethality one-shots with tactical combat. I've also done some very loose, improv-heavy stories that give the players the freedom to really make a mess. I can run sessions in person and online, and am more than happy to learn new systems at the request of players. I love the Rule of Cool.

Game systems I run

  • Dungeons & Dragons

    • High Fantasy +7
    • 1 – 7 players
    • Moderate rules

Forge your own fantasy tale with Dungeons & Dragons. Create a party of bold heroes, outsmart traps, bargain with dragons, and claim treasure in vivid worlds. Think the fellowship spirit of The Lord of the Rings, only you choose the paths, the battles, and the ending.

Get to know me

The NPC my players refuse to let go of…

was a Drow named Thrazz who was supposed to just be a caravan guard that offered them some exposition, but ended up travelling into the future, becoming a God of Time, and stopping the apocalypse.

My proudest moment as a GM…

was when my players arrived in the Hells and were supposed to be conscripted into the Blood War, but thanks to some very lucky rolls, found themselves in the manager's office instead to file a complaint. What started as a joke evolved into a completely spur of the moment decision to transform our version of the Hells from fire and brimstone into a hilarious beige-colored, bureaucratic, office-themed nightmare.

My favourite thing to hear a player say…

"I have an idea!" Working with as many new players as I have, nothing excites me more than seeing someone really find their character and embrace their chance to truly join me in telling our story together.
